The women's Marmot Pre-Cip Eco Jacket is an updated classic, packed with useful features and backed by an impressive fabric performance. It uses Marmots own in house waterproof fabric which offers very high breathability and a durable recycled nylon face fabric that will last even longer than before.
On the 20th anniversary of our best-selling PreCip Rain Jacket, meet the environmentally conscious and high-performing next generation: the lightweight Women's PreCip Eco Rain Jacket. The waterproof/breathable, PFC-free Marmot NanoPro™ recycled nylon face fabric lasts longer than ever, thanks to the advanced technology of 100% PFC-free Entrant HSDT microporous coating.
Sturdier, more durable than ever, and with a patented dry-touch finish, this packable water-repelling jacket that stuffs into its own pocket will become an everyday piece that you can feel good in and about. It's topped off with an updated fit and the same fully functional features you love, like a stowable hood, adjustable hem, and heat-releasing PitZips. The DriClime™-lined chin guard wicks away moisture to help prevent chafing.
Marmot's Pre-Cip Jacket is a classic product that has been continually updated. It's now called the Precip Eco Jacket as it's now made with a recycled nylon face fabric which is obviously better for the environment, but it also makes it more durable than is was before, while still keeping it's good waterproofing and breathability rating.
Whilst being lighter than it was before, it's still not in the same category as some of our ultralight shells, this is because the face fabric is more durable than the ultralight jackets. This locates the Pre-Cip Eco Jacket in the mid range category. Another thing that adds weight is the feature set - the front zip has both internal and external flap which some think is a more effective arrangement than a water resistant zip with backing flap.
The pocket zips also have flaps, as do the pit zips. We like pit zips because they are a really effective way to vent a jacket, and its surprising how little rain gets in when the pit zips are open. The hood has a brim but its not wired, and the volume adjustment is via a velcro strip at the back. The collar stands up inside the hood, which folds away under the collar when not required.
Its an accomplished design with a decent fabric at a good price. Being a US Brand it zips from the wrong side (for the UK).
