Mountain Hardwear's Ghost Lite Jacket is pretty light weight, yet it has some key features that go beyond expectations, a hood, a chest pocket, cinchable hem and an internal flap backing the main zipper. Amazing protection gives its sub-100g weight.
Mountain Hardwear says:
Weather-resistant running and cross-training shell that weighs only 3 oz. A hooded jacket simply can’t get any lighter. Weighing in at a mind-bending 3 oz., the Ghost Lite is so featherweight and airy that training in it is a pleasure, even in adverse conditions. Able to compress down into its own pocket to wait until the weather turns, this jacket is an athlete’s dream.
Mountain Hardwear's Ghost Lite Jacket is pretty light weight, yet it has some key features that go beyond expectations - it has a zipped chest pocket for example - and a hood! Its amazing the difference a windshell makes in keeping you warm - you can put it on over a baselayer and instantly benefit from a level of protection that goes beyond what you would expect given the weight of the jacket, it also has a decent DWR coating which means it will even shed the odd light shower.
As already mentioned there are still some key features present - the hood is a simple affair with an elasticated edge but its effective, the main zipper has an internal flap for extra protection and the hem has a cinch drawcord. The whole jacket rolls up into the chest pocket resulting in a small package that's easily stuffed in a rucksack pocket, it will also work for runners carrying minimal kit in a bum bag.
