Lightweight Primaloft insulated hoodie with Pertex Quantum fabrics for versatile lightweight warmth and protection, ideal for Alpine belays.
The Xenon X Hoodie is a light-weight, PrimaLoft synthetic insulated jacket, designed for fast-and-light alpine activities where weight is of prime concern.
Using a light-weight Pertex Quantum fabric, the Xenon X Hoodie offers an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio, with 60g/m² (Large) of the highest quality PrimaLoft Gold insulation. Key features include an over or under-helmet Lycra bound hood, YKK zipped pockets throughout, and a slim fit to enable layers to be added comfortably. The Xenon X Hoodie also packs away extremely small and includes an integrated stuff sack, making it easy to store away in your pack until needed.
Primaloft uses a unique microfibre structure which is specially treated to create a core with similar physical and thermal properties to down meaning you will be well insulated against the cold. It's compressible, breathable and has excellent water repellency so you remain dry, warm and comfortable even under the most extreme conditions.

With less filling in the body of the jacket and a lighter shell fabric than the Generator jacket the Xenon is a lighter hooded alternative. Of course it won`t be as warm as the Generator but it has its place as a useful and weight-efficient extra layer.
The hood design is excellent the lycra rim around the face ensures the hood doesn`t fall forward and obstruct peripheral vision. Its designed to be worn over a thick baselayer or perhaps a thin baselayer and shirt.
It replaces the Xenon jacket - the only difference is the face fabric - The Xenon uses Pertex Quantum GL, whereas the Xenon X Hoodie uses the standard Pertex Quantum, the GL fabric is 20% lighter so the Xenon is the same jacket, providing the same insulation as the Xenon X but is 50grams lighter. It may not sound much but its a headtorch or a stove in some circumstances.
Rab have meade this change of fabric to make the jacket cheaper, and also the GL fabric of the Xenon is shiny (which a lot of people don't like) whereas the standard Quantum used in the Xenon X has a matt finish.
