RAB's Xiom jacket is made from Pertex Shield+ 3L fabric, 3L stands for 3 layer, this is important because many jackets using Pertex Shield+ are made from a 2.5Layer, which is an excellent performing fabric, but RAB have moved to the 3 Layer construction because the resulting fabric is more durable.
Weight is still kept low because the outer fabric has a lower thread count than a typical 2.5L application - bottom line is RAB can make a jacket that's still very light but will be just that bit more durable than others using 2.5Layer.
Feature-wise the Xiom has just about everything, a well designed hood with a wired peak and cinch cord round the head so that it moves with the wearer, two hand pockets, one chest pocket, velcro adjusted cuffs and a water resistant main zipper backed by a rain gutter. Inside the hand pockets are fabric, not mesh.
The Xiom also has pitzips - these have never been popular in the UK but we like them because you can open up the underarm area which is exactly where you need the ventilation, even during a shower you can still do this and avoid getting wet, opening them a bit helps a lot.

All RAB products are designed with end-use in mind. The fit of our garments reflects this, and varies across different product categories.
Regular: Medium fitting, contoured with room for movement.
The fit of each garment makes allowances for clothing layers likely to be worn underneath it: a ‘regular fit’ shell jacket will have room for several layers underneath, whereas a ‘regular fit' tee will not.
