The Torrent GTX Flier is low on weight, high on waterproof protection. This jacket provides an excellent package with a highly protective 50,000mm HH, a highly breathable 44,000 MVTR and at an impressively lightweight 218g.

Constructed with attention to the last detail with waterproofing and water repellent treatments in order to maximize functionality, including processes to prevent water retention at the joints of the cuffs and hems. Weight reduction measures include Smart Sewing, minimization of sewn parts, and reductions in the width of seam tape. Our Verdict
Montbell's Torrent Flier Jacket is a very lightweight jacket at just over 200g and easy to wear in any season. It boasts very excellent levels of waterproofing at 50,000mm HH and has water resistant zips throughout, including pit zips. The Gore Paclite also provides a much improved level of breathability with a rating of 44,000 MVTR. It packs down small, so is prefect for carrying as a waterproof layer without adding much weight to your pack.
The fit is quite boxy which is great in cooler weather with a mid-layer beneath. The adjustment at the side of the hips is great for perfecting the fit whilst moving - keeping the front and slightly curved back panels flat. The hood also has lots of adjustment too, keeping it in situ in inclement weather.
