Mountain Equipment Switch Pro Hooded Insulated Jacket

The Switch Pro Hooded Jacket is a hybrid insulated mid-layer that's ideally suited to those needing to move fast over technical ground. The versatile piece is a fantastic all-rounder providing a balance of warmth, breathability and temperature control.

With super fast drying POLARTEC® Alpha® insulation, this is the perfect midlayer for moving quickly in cold conditions. Zoned Pontetorto® Tecnostretch fleece ensures an athletic fit and even greater moisture transfer as well as adding stretch to the hood which works with or without a helmet.

Mountain Equipment's Switch Pro Hooded Jacket is a very technical jacket. The fabric used down the front and most of the back of the jacket is lightweight 20D nylon which offers good wind protection but it's also there protecting the Polartec Alpha insulation. Polartec Alpha insulates but doesn't overheat you when you start to move. The Polartec alpha insulation is spread throughout the body, arms and hood, with Pontetorto Tecnostretch fleece used under the arms, top of the hood and the side panels. This combo gives you some warmth, but it comes into it's own when you're really active in this piece.

This garment will provide similar levels of warmth as a lightweight micro fleece, but when you set off on your trek, climb, ride or whatever you're doing you won't need to take it off and pack it away, you should remain comfortable moving in it.
