The Rain Walker SUL is a great trekking umbrella that provides protection from the rain and sun when you're out and about. A low weight and easy to use design make this a great alternative to waterproofs.
Six Moon Designs says:
An umbrella is one of the most versatile pieces of gear you can own. It offers a shield from the rain, shade from the sun, can act as a micro-shelter, and even be used as an anchor point for your tarp or tent. The Rain Walker SUL does all of that at a mere 5.5 ounces.
The Rain Walker SUL is a great alternative to traditional rain gear, especially in hot and humid climates. An ultralight umbrella allows you to dress for the temperature instead of the weather. And in rainy conditions, you have a great mini shelter for checking maps and guidebooks or even snapping pictures.
Six Moon Design's Rain Walker SUL Umbrella provides a good amount of coverage from the rain and will also keep the sun off too. This umbrella stands up well to rain and despite the lightweight and use of carbon fibre for the frame it stands up to breezy conditions but due to it's size it is more difficult to use when there are stronger gusts of wind. The large area it covers is excellent for keeping you dry or keeping you out of the sun.
The simple foam handle is comfortable to grip while the umbrella opens and closes with ease. The carbon frame reduces the weight and combined with the 10D fabric used on the canopy this weighs in at an impressive 152g which, for an umbrella of this size is really good. The trekking umbrella is a hugely underrated piece of kit as it allows more breathability, temperature regulation and moisture management than any item of clothing can.
