The Kinesis Pants are versatile, athletic and practical. The active insulation provides warmth while effectively managing moisture and helping you regulate your temperature and stay comfortable for longer.
Mountain Equipment says:
Fast drying, wind resistant and lightly insulated legwear for cold weather mountaineering.
With wind and weather resistant HeliumAP outer fabric and a specially developed Octayarn Warpknit lining the Kinesis Pants are both supremely functional and exceptionally comfortable. They’re equally functional worn alone or under a shell.
Mountain Equipment's 2020 Kinesis Pant provides an excellent balance of warmth with the ability to regulate temperature effectively. The design of these pants combines a durable outer with active insulation on the inner to keep you going for longer no matter what the conditions are like or how hard you are pushing. They excel in cooler temperatures where conditions are changeable.
The lightweight HeliumAP outer fabric is tough enough yet comfortable enough to move and stretch naturally making these pants feel athletic and thus suited to climbers, mountaineers and/or where full range of motion is required. Continuing with the athletic theme, these are nicely fitted, not too tight and restrictive or too loose, which further promotes movement and enhances the moisture wicking and breathability properties of Octayarn Warp-knit.
The Octayarn Warp-knit is constructed to provide a greater surface area which promotes moisture wicking, combined with the hollow core of the yarn enhances the thermal capabilities of the Kinesis. In practice this was noticeable, keeping me dry the more intense activities got yet was kept warm as things became more leisurely.
