Autumn Winter 2017 Highlights

'Any Fool Can Be Uncomfortable'

For over 20 years we've worked with some of the best athletes on the planet and supported expeditions to the Earth's most extreme environments. In that time, we've learnt a thing or two about dynamic layering systems.

Dressing suitably for cold conditions is one thing; but being able to move, climb, run, sleep and repeat day in, day out is another altogether. In every active-use outdoor situation, a key requirement of being comfortable is to prevent weather entering your clothing system, yet simultaneously allowing your sweat and excess body heat to escape.

Ensuring you go further, faster, longer when you use Montane's dynamic layering system.

Baselayer Revolution: Primino

The next level in baselayer technology. PRIMINO combines a unique blend of high performance PrimaLoft yarns and ethically sourced Merino wool, creating supremely comfortable and ultra fast drying men's baselayer for year round mountain use. The PRIMINO two-weight system allows all round versatility so you can tailor your baselayer requirements to any condition.

Primino fabrics combine the natural performance of merino wool which stays warm when wet and has natural anti-odour properties with the man-made performance of synthetic insulation  which includes the ability to wick moisture effectively and has an extremely good warmth to weight ratio.

Midlayer: Synthetic Insulation

In the cold wet conditions we are all too used to seeing here in the UK synthetic insulation is often a more appropriate choice than down. The ability to insulate effectively when wet makes a huge difference especially over autumn and winter when temperatures are low too.

The Autumn Winter 2017 range includes a number of extremely packable synthetic men's insulated jackets for cold mountain activities and expeditions where weight, weather resistance and exceptional warmth are required. Using fabrics such as PERTEX QUANTUM ECO on the new Icarus Jacket and Flux Jacket that is not only windproof and showerproof but also fast drying.

Montane pioneered the use of PERTEX and fleece pile linings 20 years ago to create a micro-climate to regulate body temperature and move moisture whilst active. The Hydrogen Direct Jacket takes inspiration from our heritage whilst harnessing the latest in cutting edge Alpha Direct insulation technology from POLARTEC. With a windproof PERTEX QUANTUM AIR outer shell the Hydrogen Direct Jacket provides a perfect blend of insulation, wind protection and breathability in one unique package.

POLARTEC are leading the way with their 'Alpha' insulation. Weight for weight it only offers about half the insulation of synthetic mat insulations but it offers much greater breathability and will transport moisture out of the garment. A property which is ideal for keeping warm during high activity.

Waterproof Shell: Ajax Gore-Tex Jacket

Engineered for mountainous environments where conditions are ever-changing. Montane's range of men's waterproof jackets and clothing blends lightweight construction and world leading, lightweight, waterproof breathable fabrics such as GORE-TEX and PERTEX for uncompromising functionality and comfort.
