Part of the new Skyline range from the esteemed British brand, Rab’s new Pacer Gore-Tex Jacket is an excellent waterproof shell for the athlete needing low weight, tiny pack size, and class-leading breathability. Built for pure speed in the high mountains, the Pacer offers all the protection you’ll need when you’re on the limit.
When you’re running ridgelines above the trees or scrambling fast through the mountains, the Pacer Jacket delivers the stripped-back utility you need for active mountain running.
Part of our Skyline mountain running range, the Pacer Jacket offers a striking combination of advanced comfort, optimised breathability and minimal weight. Its three-layer waterproof construction uses GORE-TEX’s highly breathable 13D Active nylon face, alongside an open underarm design, for first-class flexibility and ventilation. An extended lower back preserves coverage and extended cuffs provide welcome hand protection on exposed foul-weather runs. A pared back features list helps keep the weight down to just 240g, while the semi-elasticated hood with a stiffened peak, rear adjustable toggle and roll-down tab keeps the elements at bay and the view clear, however hard you push.
When you want waterproof protection without weight for exposed mountain runs, our highly breathable three-layer Pacer Jacket is designed to perform.

The Rab Pacer Gore-Tex Jacket is purpose-built for those moving hard and fast through inclement weather. This is the flagship product of the new Skyline range, a line of running gear focused on Skyraces and Mountain Marathons, focused on light weight and breathability above all. The Pacer achieves this – the Gore-Tex Active used throughout provides total waterproofing while maintaining a RET value below 3.5, making for a zero-compromise shell layer, no matter your pace.
The Pacer has quickly become a staple for damp morning miles as the cut is far better than the majority of running shells currently on the market. The back is long, and sits comfortably well below the waistline, which provides added protection and makes for a comfortable fit when moving fast. The sleeves are excellent, with clever seaming and extended protection over the back of the hand. There are only two minor flaws with the piece – the hood brim is ineffective and only functions well with a cap underneath, and the jacket stuffs into a separate stuff sack, a minor annoyance that adds hassle when packing and unpacking in a hurry. All-in-all the Pacer is a reliable shell for the worst weather, and has proven a stalwart piece through many downpours.
