Outdoor Research's Interstellar Jacket gives you a great level of protection from the wind and rain but its extremely high level of breathability and stretch in the material that sets it apart. This is a great all round jacket with design features and a style that make this jacket stand out when you're around town or up in the mountains. The high level of stretch and breathability mean that this is great for walking, fast-packing and more intense activities such as mountain biking but I found that trail running stretches it's limits in this sense.
The Interstellar provides a decent amount of features for this weight and price. A fully adjustable hood with stiffened peak means you can keep the worst of the weather out even when the wind and rain are swirling around you. The hem and cuffs are also adjustable and added to the stretchy, soft feel of the material make this one of the most comfortable hardshells I've ever worn.
