Rab's Meridian Gore-Tex Jacket uses quality materials and practical features to produce a versatile waterproof shell. The 40D Gore-Tex Paclite Plus fabric balances lightweight and packable with durable waterproof protection really well. The Paclite is best suited to be carried and used when needed, hence the name and lightweight design. The material has come a long way and is much more comfortable to wear for longer periods now. This is helped with the addition of the pit zips on this jacket which allow you to vent really well and dump heat when things warm up.
Other features include a good sized hood with a stiffened peak that can be rolled down with a Velcro tap to secure it, adjustable hem and cuffs, a stuff sack to keep the jacket safe and clean when it isn't needed and two good sized, and well placed hand pockets. Overall, it's a well featured jacket with a good balance of durability, weight and protection.
