Haglofs L.I.M Proof jacket is a very lightweight minimalist hooded shell manufactured using Haglofs in house highly breathable Proof fabric.
Haglofs says: Ultra minimalistic, packable and super lightweight trekking shell jacket made in 2,5 layer PROOF fabric.
At Haglofs we have great awareness of our impact on both nature and people. Our overall sustainability policy is simple: We minimise our negative environmental impact by developing long-lasting products, by using a sustainable production process and by continuously increasing the proportion of recycled and bluesign approved materials used in our products.
The Take Care logo indicates a product which is Bluesign approved or using recycled materials.
||||The Bluesign standard is an environmental scheme aimed at removing any substances that are potentially hazardous to human health or the environment from the entire textile supply chain.|
Many of our fabrics are treated with durable water repellent (DWR) to keep you dry, warm and clean for longer. Where it is possible without compromising the high level of functionality of our garments, we use more environmentally friendly DWR treatments.
C6 DWR (PFOA free) DWR treatment is completely free from perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) and has a significantly reduced content of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and has excellent functionality while causing less harm to the environment.

Haglofs Proof fabric is a 2.5 layer fabric designed with high breathability and a 40 denier face fabric, it has a matt finish and is quite soft to the touch. Just in case you weren't aware the L.I.M stands for 'Less is More' and is used to identify Haglofs products which have been designed to be very lightweight.
The attention to detail is excellent with micro elastic binding on the hem and cuffs and a forehead hugging band across the top edge of the hood which keeps it nicely in place without the need for cord adjustments. The hood also has a fabric peak to shed the worst of the rain.
Keeping minimalist there's only a single pocket on the chest, but it is quite large. The zips are not the water resistant type and so need protecting, the front zip has a backing flap and the chest pocket zip has an external flap.
The fabric has a modest one-way stretch, this will enhance the fit rather than enhance movement. With reflective detail and a flash of colour on the cuffs and hood it a well made quality garment.

Care Instructions: HAGLÖFS PROOF™
Washing instructions: Always follow the washing instructions on the care label inside the garment. Do not use fabric softener. Always close zippers and any velcro straps before washing. It is preferable to dry garments in a drying cabinet as tumble dryers may cause greater wear. Adding heat during drying reactivates the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment on the fabric surface. The same effect can be achieved by ironing the garment on low heat. Be sure to check the care label; not all garments tolerate drying in cabinet or dryer.
Miscellaneous: PROOF™ consists of a membrane that is laminated onto a face fabric. The material is completely waterproof, windproof and has very good breathability. Drip drying your PROOF™ garment without the addition of heat may impair water-repelling qualities. It is also important to re-waterproof the entire garment, or exposed areas, when the outer surface is being soaked by water already in light rain. Use a re-waterproofing agent that is suitable for 'breathable' garments. Only re-waterproof clean garments. Adding heat after re-waterproofing your garment, by tumble drying or ironing at low temperature, will maximize the effect of the new DWR.
