Haglofs 2020 L.I.M Proof Multi Waterproof Jacket has been updated, making it even more lightweight, just as packable but with double the level of waterproofing for taking on challenging conditions.
Haglofs says:
We wanted to use our own PROOF™ 2,5-layer material technology to construct an essential outdoor jacket that makes the most of the material's durable, protective qualities, versatility, and capacity for high performance. The result: a lightweight and versatile jacket that's a beautifully simple and effective companion piece for fast, light outdoor activity. It's treated with fluorocarbon-free DWR, helping to repel water and dirt, and is durable and packable.

Haglofs' 2020 L.I.M Proof Multi Waterproof Jacket is made from a 2.5 layer fabric designed with high breathability, and improved waterproofing - double the HH of the old version. They have somehow managed to make it even lighter weight too without sacrifing any features whilst improving performance. Haglofs fluorocarbon free DWR is used for eco friendly protection.
The attention to detail is excellent with micro elastic binding on the hem and cuffs and a forehead hugging band across the top edge of the hood which keeps it nicely in place without the need for cord adjustments. The hood also has a fabric peak to shed the worst of the rain.
The minimalist design still allows for a full front zip and two hand pockets with mesh lining to enhance airflow. The zips are not the water resistant type and so need protecting, but the front zip does have a storm flap. Overall a great piece for those who wanting a waterproof with a low weight and small packsize.

Some great features but bottom half disappointing
Bought this from Ultralight Outdoor Gear and it arrived nicely packaged up and on time. Had this on for about 4 hrs while hiking in very, very wet and windy conditions. So tested this to the limit. I was disappointed with this coat - the top half is fantastic but the bottom part of the jacket does not perform when pushed hard on hiking. Pros: -very lightweight -material waterproofing held out well -wonderfully breathable -hood design is excellent -cuffs are great -wind-proofing was great. Cons: -Water ingress from the bottom of the jacket was the fatal flaw for me here, and the bottom half of my (non cotton!) shirt got very wet. Hugely disappointed because top half of jacket did famously. I think this soaking was because the jacket hem kept curling round on itself, reducing coverage and perhaps leading water to trickle round and onto my shirt. After a bit of use the jacket did not stay snugly in position like the jacket on the models in the pictures. Putting things in the pockets and having my rucksack belt on didn’t help with that, I think that interrupted the fit. The problem being that there is no spare length to play with at all and the hem cannot be tightened/loosened to suit your figure or to suit a given set-up. Maybe a chest pocket (not pockets lower down) and perhaps a little bit more jacket length would have helped this perform much, much better (the sleeve length was perfect on me - plenty of length to spare to fit over base of gloves - and my arms are comparatively long). -No stuff sack: a minor irritation but I had assumed one would be included. So very close to being a really fantastic raincoat, but not quite. Frustrating. Have been generous with 3/5 stars to take account of the particularly challenging conditions I put this through.
