Mountain Hardwear's Stretch Ozonic Jacket utilises DryQ Active fabric which offers a superbly soft handle and amazing 4-way stretch for a waterproof jacket unlike conventional hardshells.
Mountain Hardwear says: A wet-weather backpacking shell with amazing four-way, all-over stretch. The Stretch Ozonic is a lightweight, high-performance 2.5-layer shell that excels on rugged trails in difficult, wet conditions. It boasts our Dry.Q™ Active technology, which banishes moisture, and is made with a fantastic stretch fabric that will move with you when you need it most.
||||Dry.Q Active is used to meet the high movement high breathability and low weight requirements of aerobic sports like running. The technology allows us to provide the waterproof protection of a hard shell with superlight and stretch fabrics. By engineering fabrics layer by layer and combining performance fabrics in new ways we can give athletes the protection of a rain jacket with the lightweight stretch and moisture management of a running top.|
Mountain Hardwear's Stretch Ozonic Jacket has an amazingly soft feel to the fabric and an excellent four-way stretch making this one of the most comfortable hardshell jackets you are likely to come across, and at such a low weight. The Stretch Ozonic has all the features required, twin handwarmer pockets with water resistant zip and a chunky easy to use front zip backed by an internal flap.
The hood is very simple, it can be cinched around the face and it has a foam peak, but it doesn't have any round the head adjustment or any method of reducing the volume. It does the job, but could have been much better with just a small adjustment.
The Stretch Ozonic is a good jacket that will appeal to those wanting a soft and stretchy alternative to their noisy hardshell.
