The Berghaus Extrem 5000 PZ Jacket allows you to stay dry all day long with reinforced Gore-Tex fabric, fully taped seams and YKK AquaGuard protected zips. Pit zips have been added this year to make this a more usable mountaineering piece.
A highly robust waterproof, ideal for winter mountaineering.
Made for the extreme winter weather of the British Isles, this jacket is incredibly well equipped.
To keep the driving rain and blizzards out you can count on totally waterproof, 3 layer GORE-TEX®, with reinforced areas to protect the jacket from rock and rucksack abrasion.
The hood is fully adjustable, and fits perfectly over your climbing helmet for greater protection.
Even zips are watertight with YKK® AQUAGUARD® keeping the rain out of pockets and away from your body, while two underarm, water resistant zips let the air flow for enhanced ventilation.
Pockets are positioned away from your rucksack harness or your backpack waist strap for easy access at all times.
With a tailored fit that delivers unrestricted movement and cuff tabs you can adjust even with your mountain gloves on, the Extrem 5000 Vented Jacket is a great British mountaineering jacket.

The Berghaus Extrem 5000 PZ Jacket allows you to stay dry all day long with reinforced Gore-Tex fabric, fully taped seams and YKK AquaGuard protected zips.
It's basically a simplified version of the Extrem Pro 8000 jacket. You still get the same super tough face fabric but Berghaus have swapped the Gore-Tex Pro with the traditional Gore-Tex waterproofing and removed all the Xpanse features to create a strong, reliable jacket at a budget.
Feature wise you still get a helmet compatible hood but with a simple drawcord adjustment and a gusset in the hood to prevent the wind and rain from getting inside. The zips are AquaGuard protected and will still work well in minus temperatures.
Pit zips are a new addition for this jacket and it makes sense to add them to a jacket like this as the durability of the fabrics that are used may negate some of the breathability of the Gore-Tex membrane.
