Mountain Hardwear`s cleanest lightest weight pant for spring alpine climbing. They teamed with speed climber Ueli Steck to create a pant that meets his standards for efficiency simplicity and elite athletic performance. Its streamlined fit and stretchy yet durable construction are tailor-made for fast ascents.
You can imagine what a speed climber would wear - its not going to be a loose fitting pair of trekking trousers with fabric flapping about round the lower leg - its going to be the Mountain Hardwear Warlow Hybrid pants! Super stretchy fabric means they can be cut close to the required size without compromising movement as you climb the Matterhorn in a couple of hours, or make a super-fast rain-dash from the tent to the pub.
Seriously though - you get the idea, these are fantastic pants if you like close fitting, especially round the lower leg. There's no adjustment at the ankle, just a neatly finished hem. The hybrid refers to the use of a second ripstop fabric for reinforcement in key areas. There are two hand front hand pockets with mesh lining with no pockets at the rear (Ueli doesn't carry his wallet in his back pocket either).
The waistband is interesting, elasticated all round with belt loops for those of us who'll need them, and a zipped fly. I really like them, the weight is no more than others but the fabric is thicker, the close fit obviously requires less fabric so the weight is kept low.
