RAB's Vector Pants are a relatively light but tough technical softshell pant. We like the concealed belt and copious pockets.
RAB says: Mid-weight Matrix DWS softshell pants providing wind and water resistance and high durability for mountain use in varied conditions.

RAB's Vector pants are made from their own in-house fabric called Matrix DWS - we're big fans - its the same fabric used in their Scimitar range; when Mark went through a white-out in a Scimitar jacket and Pants combo he was mightily impressed to come out of it dry and comfortable.
In our view the pedigree of the fabric is great - after this the features are pretty standard, though we do like the concealed belt and the Vector pants also have the now commonplace microfleece waistband which makes a surprising difference to comfort.
Many people choose softshell pants over lighter weight trekking trousers because they shed the weather much better and are generally more durable - we say that it depends on where you are going - you can still save a lot of weight by choosing standard pants but if you need particularly heavy durability, or you know that you're going to have light showers on and off - then softshell maybe a better choice in that instance.

All our products are designed with end-use in mind. The fit of our garments reflects this, and varies across different product categories.
Regular: Medium fitting, contoured with room for movement.
The fit of each garment makes allowances for clothing layers likely to be worn underneath it: a ‘regular fit’ shell jacket will have room for several layers underneath, whereas a ‘regular fit' tee will not.
