The Rab Torque Pants are lightweight and close fitting technical climbing pants with durable reinforced knee and kick patches, designed to take abuse in the mountains.
Revised for Spring/Summer ’16, our highly successful technical climbing trouser, the Torque Pant, is now even lighter and better than ever before. The Torque Pants are a light-weight and close fitting technical climbing pant, designed in a Matrix stretch fabric with light-weight yet tough reinforcement areas, designed for take abuse in the mountains.
For Spring/Summer ’16 we have made the articulation zones throughout the Torque Pant even lighter, without lessening the abuse these pants can take in the mountains. The Matrix fabrics used are designed to offer the highest levels of stretch and freedom of movement, without compromising on performance and durability.
With durable reinforced knee and kick patches, and zipped leg closures to accommodate larger mountain boots, the Torque Pant is a fully featured mountain pant, ideal for both technical climbing and general outdoor use.

The Torque pants will appeal to someone looking for a closer fitting pant with more of a casual look than the more classic designs that are available elsewhere. They have a closed elasticated (with drawcord) waistband and yet still have a zip fly, this opens from the bottom, which makes sense if you have a closed top end.
The reinforcement is excellent, it extends from the knee down the inside of the leg to the ankle. There's a zip expanding leg closure to fit over your boots and webbing loops at the hem for under boot cord attachment.
Zipped hand pockets and a zipped rear pocket are sufficient for most purposes, and the fact that these are softshell means they will shed a fair proportion of wet weather. Matrix DWS is RAB's own softshell fabric and we've used other garments made from it - its performance is excellent - shedding showers without a problem.
The Torque pants are a good choice for someone looking for something a bit different.
