The Photon Pants are very warm, PrimaLoft synthetic insulated pants, designed to provide greater freedom of movement in extreme polar environments.
Using a combination of Pertex Microlight and 100% Ripstop fabrics, the Photon Pants are extremely durable and are designed to withstand expedition abuse. Reinforced knees, seat and kick patches provide high levels of freedom of movement, and full-length YKK side zips make the pants easy to take on and off when wearing crampons. A expedition fit means the Photon Pants can be worn as an outer layer in conjunction with the Expedition Jacket in the harshest environments.

Welcome return for the Photon pants - Primaloft insulation is the best synthetic insulation around at the moment - so warm to weight ratio is quite good. The Photon Pants are not built purely for that reason though they`ve got reinforcement areas on the seat knees and inside ankles and full length side zippers for easy on and off over other clothing all refinements that add a bit extra weight. With so much insulation its hard to recommend these as a trekking trouser - in this country at least you`re likely to be too warm if wearing them while heading up a gradient although the long side zippers do allow some venting if the need arises the zip opens top to bottom or bottom to top.
They are perfect for slipping on around camp or when stopped for a while.

All our products are designed with end-use in mind. The fit of our garments reflects this, and varies across different product categories.
Regular: Medium fitting, contoured with room for movement.
The fit of each garment makes allowances for clothing layers likely to be worn underneath it: a ‘regular fit’ shell jacket will have room for several layers underneath, whereas a ‘regular fit’ tee will not.
