Mountain Hardwear's Micro Thermostaic is an exceptionally light weight jacket with 40 grams of Thermal.Q Elite insulation. Keeps the chill at bay without the bulk!
Mountain Hardwear says:
An exceptionally light jacket that boasts our Thermal.Q™ Elite insulation, for unbeatable warmth. It makes a great midlayer for alpine climbing--under a more technical outer shell when the weather turns nasty, or on its own on cooler days without precipitation. With strategically-placed insulation for enhanced packability, you can throw it in your bag as an emergency piece and forget about it until you need it.
||||This insulation works to mimic the structure of natural goose down using 100% waterproof, synthetic fibres. A lattice of thick, rigid fibres helps create structure and maintain loft while a multitude of thinner fibres fills in the structure. This creates a warm synthetic structure with excellent compression rebound, which will not absorb moisture. |
A featherweight, low-profile jacket for alpine climbing and backpacking. The Micro Thermostatic Hybrid boasts Mountain Hardwear's Thermal.Q Elite 40 gram insulation, for unbeatable warmth in a very low-profile jacket. Though its 20 denier nylon face fabric is wind and water resistant enough to be used as an outer layer, its streamlined fit makes it a perfect midlayer beneath a waterproof shell.
The jacket is quite similar in warmth and look to Mountain Hardwear's Micro Thermostatic Jacket except it doesn't have the same baffle design throughout, opting for more of a smooth finish look. The hybrid version also features elasticated cuffs and hem to help keep the wind out and the warmth in. The 2 large zippered hand warmer pockets on the outside are harness and pack compatible, with one pocket turning into a storage pocket for easy compact storage.
