The 2020 Kinesis is versatile, athletic, and good-looking bit of kit with plenty features to warrant room in the rucksack on most adventures.
Mountain Equipment says:
A superfast drying action layer that combines warmth and weather protection for the most demanding climbing and mountaineering.
Balancing the moisture transfer required for running up exposed ice fields with the durability needed for rock climbing in the high mountains. The specially developed Octayarn Warp-knit lining offers insulation you can move fast in combined with rapid drying that will be appreciated on one day sprints and multi-day missions alike.
Mountain Equipment's 2020 Kinesis Insulated Jacket is a great looking jacket for the demands of active outdoors person. First thing you notice with the new Kinesis jacket from ME is that its quite stylish (if you ask me) second is that it is pleasant to wear due to the plush lining.
Now for the techie bit; the lightweight HeliumAP outer fabric is tough but also moves and stretches well with the natural movements with the body making the jacket feel athletic and thus suited to climbers, mountaineers and/or where full range of motion is required. Continuing with the athletic theme, this version of the Kinesis is more fitted than the previous version which allows the jacket to move in unison with the wearer and enhances the moisture wicking and breathability properties of Octayarn Warp-knit.
The Octayarn Warp-knit is constructed to provide a greater surface area which promotes moisture wicking, combined with the hollow core of the yarn enhances the thermal capabilities of the Kinesis. In practice this was noticeable, keeping me dry the more intense activities got yet was kept warm as things became more leisurely.
In conclusion the ME Kinesis is versatile, athletic, and good-looking bit of kit with plenty features to warrant room in the rucksack on most adventures.
