The Ghost Lite is the lightest hooded wind shell we have. This jacket uses super lightweight fabric that gives you protection from the weather and packs into the chest pocket so you can take it with you easily.
Mountain Hardwear says:
Weather-resistant running and cross-training shell that weighs only 3 oz. A hooded jacket simply can’t get any lighter. Weighing in at a mind-bending 3 oz., the Ghost Lite is so featherweight and airy that training in it is a pleasure, even in adverse conditions. Able to compress down into its own pocket to wait until the weather turns, this jacket is an athlete’s dream.
Mountain Hardwear's Ghost Lite Jacket is impressively lightweight and still has a good sized chest pocket you can actually use. It has elasticated cuffs, hood and a drawcord hem to give you some adjustability. The little hood stow tab that is tucked away on the back of the jacket is a genius touch. The ability to tie the hood down when it's not needed is a massive positive for runners.
Despite reading other comments about this fitting small I found that the jacket was pretty well sized. I'm a medium and the medium Ghost Lite was the right size on me, large was far too big for a wind shell. That being said, the jacket doesn't have a very good cut in my opinion. It fits too loosely for a light, wind shell designed primarily for running with particularly baggy arms.
