Mountain Hardwear's Super Chockstone Hooded jacket is super stretchy and a pleasure to wear, it will shrug off the occasional shower and has a simple hood that adds protection during wind and rainy conditions.
Mountain Hardwear says: A highly technical wind- and weather-resistant jacket for climbing, hiking, and scrambling, the Super Chockstone™ Hooded Jacket excels above and below the treeline. It's durable enough to graze the rock face, yet remarkably breathable to prevent overheating. With a precise, active fit for enhanced mobility, it can still layer over a fleece layer when the weather turns. UPF 50 for protection from harsh sunlight in thinner air.
Mountain Hardwear's Super Chockstone Hooded Jacket is quite light for a softshell - that means its performance in dealing with drizzle and light showers won't be as good as heavier garments but its highly breathable, super stretchy and a joy to wear. Its completely unrestrictive and it will keep out the occasional shower.
There are two hand pockets and a small chest pocket. The binding at the wrist is very neat and there's some stretch in the wrist aperture due to the stretch of the fabric.
The inside of the hand pockets are lined with mesh ensuring breathability is not compromised, which can often be the case when large pockets are added to a jacket. The main hem can be cinched or left to drape. A micro fleece lining to the inside front of the collar adds comfort.
The Super Chockstone Jacket is a really nice piece to wear for additional warmth and additional protection during Spring or Autumn excursions.
