Haglofs Gecko Softshell Jacket is a heavyweight softshell providing 4 way stretch protection from wind and rain while keeping its wearer comfortable and dry.
Haglofs says: A versatile softshell jacket with four way stretch fabric and a soft knitted backer that boasts a dry feeling for all type of trekking activity. A clean design with seams positioned to not interfere when you're carrying a backpack. All fabrics are Bluesign approved.
At Haglofs we have great awareness of our impact on both nature and people. Our overall sustainability policy is simple: We minimise our negative environmental impact by developing long-lasting products, by using a sustainable production process and by continuously increasing the proportion of recycled and bluesign approved materials used in our products.
The Take Care logo indicates a product which is Bluesign approved or using recycled materials.
Many of our fabrics are treated with durable water repellent (DWR) to keep you dry, warm and clean for longer. Where it is possible without compromising the high level of functionality of our garments, we use more environmentally friendly DWR treatments.
C6 DWR (PFOA free) DWR treatment is completely free from perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) and has a significantly reduced content of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and has excellent functionality while causing less harm to the environment.
||||The Bluesign standard is an environmental scheme aimed at removing any substances that are potentially hazardous to human health or the environment from the entire textile supply chain.|

Haglofs' Gecko Lite Hood Softshell Jacket is made from quite heavy fabric, this enables the Gecko to provide a high level of protection from wind and showers while keeping the wearer dry and at a comfortable temperature.
The hood fits neatly round the face but also has a cinch cord round the head so that it moves with you. The cuffs are lightly elasticated with thumb loops for greater flexibility. The two hand pockets are lined with mesh and the cinch cord around the bottom hem allows you to bring it in tight.
Softshells like this need to fit reasonably snuggly to get the best out of them as they need to shift perspiration from the skin while not allowing wind and rain through the other way. Ideal for changeable conditions when engaging in active pursuits, it will keep you comfortable when a hardshell would overheat, and eliminates the need of taking your hardshell on and off as the weather varies.
