UOG TOP PICK - Montane's Sabretooth Jacket - Highly protective heavy weight softshell with insulation - We've singled out Montane's Sabretooth Softshell Jacket as one of our top recommendations because it uses a proven softshell fabric (Polartec Power Shield) with a fleece inner surface making it ideal as a winter softshell. A technical hood and four external pockets coupled with the full Montane design excellence and feature set puts it at the top of the 'quality' list.

Montane's Sabretooth Jacket is a versatile softshell that offers protection from wind & light rain. With a fleecy internal face fabric it also offers insulation making it an ideal winter softshell.

Montane says:

A fully featured mountain softshell, the breathable POLARTEC® Power Shield® fabric used to construct the Sabretooth Jacket has been updated with a brushed micro fleece grid backer for increased warmth and breathability performance. Featuring classic Alpine features; adjustable hood, venting pockets and active tailored fit, the Sabretooth is an outerwear jacket that gets worn, not carried.

Montane's Sabretooth jacket is made from Polartec Power Shield, which is one of the best performing softshell fabrics around at the moment. Softshell fabrics come in a variety of weights, the lightweight versions offer protection from wind and light rain but little warmth, whereas the Power Shield used in the Sabretooth is one of the heavier weights and therefore offers insulation as well as protection. The internal face of the fabric is a brushed grid micro fleece which feels very comfortable and soft against your skin.

With chest pockets and hand pockets and a technical hood that can be adjusted to move as you do the Sabretooth is a really flexible winter softshell. We also like the two way zip which can be unzipped from the bottom or the top.
