The Core Jacket is designed to provide active insulation. It adds warmth but is highly breathable and focused on wicking moisture and regulating body temperature when exercising.

Ultra-light Core range introduces a new type of insulation, synthetic plume woven directly onto a single layer mesh fabric. Made entirely from PRIMALOFT® NEXT Insulating Fabric Technology the core range offers the same warmth as other synthetic insulation products but with half the weight and the breathability better than a long sleeve tee.
The Core range look is as unique as its performance. The adaptable layer is suited to activities requiring different levels of exertion. As an outer layer the mesh fabric releases excessive heat and moisture whilst adding an overlayer traps in heat when it’s needed.
The Core Jacket uses the 125g PRIMALOFT® NEXT Insulating Fabric Technology, the thicker version of the 75g PRIMALOFT® NEXT fabric used in the Core Vest & Hoodie.
Our Verdict
OMM's Core Jacket uses Primaloft's Next insulating fabric which is designed to add a layer of warmth for cold weather exercise. The focus of the material is breathability, moisture management and regulating your body temperature as much as possible when running or hiking. It does a great job in this way and is a great piece of kit for colder conditions. The fabric provides zero protection from the wind so you will still need a soft- or windshell over it if there's a cold wind.
There are two small pockets for keeping essentials in (I couldn't really fit my hands in them), a good high collar and all the zip pulls are easy to grab even with gloves on. With the fabric looking the way it does, there is a question mark over durability but thankfully this has not been an issue in use. Worn as a mid layer and outer layer with a running pack the top still locks in great condition.
