Montane Minimus Pants

The Volt Alpiniste Jacket follows in the footsteps of the exceptionally popular Volt Jacket and is designed for use during higher level activity. It provides exceptional comfort and warmth when climbing, belaying and hiking in cooler conditions.

Montane says:

Utilising outstandingly warm yet lightweight, durable POLARTEC® Thermal Pro® Honeycomb which is zoned with POLARTEC® Classic Micro to ensure unrestricted freedom of movement and comfort. Technical tailoring in the arms and side panels eliminates hem lift; essential for stretching between holds on the wall or when reaching with trekking poles. A fully adjustable hood with a wired peak allows the Volt Alpiniste to be layered in cold weather clothing systems and makes this an ideal piece for use the mountains.

We always recommend a synthetic filled garment as a 'fleece replacement' because they offer more insulation at about half the weight. However sometimes we'll reach for a fleece because they're very comfortable and can be worn just about anywhere.

We reckon Montane's Volt Alpiniste fleece is about the best out there (if you don't like a hood then there's the Volt Jacket), the first thing you notice is the honeycomb grid pattern wihich gives it a technical look that's very attractive. Montane have added subtle coloured highlights to the zipper pulls and logos which lift the appearance further. Add to that a nice hood with a short wired peak, stretch side panels and a basic cord adjustment and you have an accomplished garment.
