Mountain Equipment's Gasherbrum Down Jacket is an extreme jacket for extreme environments. Gore-Tex Infinium/Wind Stopper protects you from the weather and a huge amount of high quality down keeps you warm.
Mountain Equipment says:
An exceptionally warm and protective expedition down jacket that remains ultra-light, proven on the longest Polar journeys and hardest routes at altitude.
With 380g of the highest quality down fill, full box wall construction, a highly weather resistant GORE-TEX INFINIUM shell and a total weight of only 785f the Gasherbrum is a specialist piece ideally suited to the longest Polar journeys and alpine style climbing on the worlds highest peaks.
Mountain Equipment's Gasherbrum Down Jacket has been built to withstand the harshest conditions. A large amount of high quality down housed in a box wall construction keeps you super warm. Box wall construction eliminates the cold spots found in cheaper jackets with sewn through baffle construction.
Weather protection is provided by Gore-Tex Infinium/Wind Stopper. Completely wind proof and highly water resistant, rain is only likely to get through the seams. A large outer storm flap protects the central zip helping keep the warmth in. Velcro strips along the storm flap back up the zip, if your zip fails on expedition the jacket can still be done up.
The Gasherbrum has 2 handwarmer pockets. Inside the jacket is a large zipped chest pocket and a further mesh pocket ideal for storing you spare hats/gloves keeping them warm and dry. The large hood has a stiffened peak helping you see where your going however fierce the wind is. The hood is quite close fitting and can be cinched in further with 2 drawcord adjusters. The wrist cuffs have large easy to use velcro adjustment.
