The updated LIM Essens has managed to shave off a few grams of weight while seriously upgrading the hydrophobic down. This is ideal for layering in cold conditions or for use as an outer.
The essence of lightness. This jacket provides great warmth at a very low weight, thanks to its extremely light and durable fabric and the premium 800 CUIN fillpower goose down it's filled with. It's been treated with a fluorocarbon-free DWR so well that the filling stays dry for up to 10 000 minutes of exposure to wet conditions. Fits beautifully, is comfortable, and packs down very small. It's so light you might not notice you're wearing it - but so warming and protective, you'll be glad you are.

Haglofs' L.I.M Essens Down Jacket is the perfect example of the Less Is More concept. This is fairly minimalist in terms of features with elasticated hem and cuffs, combined with the 7D outer shell make for a very lightweight jacket. The use of 800FP down and mini box quilted construction provide a good amount of warmth for such a lightweight and packable jacket.
The main change for this version of the L.I.M Essens Down Jacket is the new down treatment Haglofs have developed. This new water repellent is fluorocarbon free so it's still Eco-friendly and Haglofs state that they expect the down to stay dry for up to 10,000 minutes (166 hours!) in wet conditions which is a very bold claim. This jacket has handled damp conditions well enough so far and if it can perform anywhere close to half as good as claimed it will be a huge leap for down performance.
