The Capilene Air Hoody is Patagonia's most advanced baselayer yet. Constructed from both merino wool and recycled polyester, your basically getting the best qualities of wool and synthetic in just one baselayer. It looks like a hooded sweater with it's 3-D knit structure, but it's not thick like a sweater. Besides look, the only quality it actually shares with a sweater is warmth.
The material feels light and soft on your skin and stretches with you as you move. It offers amazing warmth and comfort, even insulating when wet and will resist odours for multiple use. The wrist hems are soft and stretchy elastic knit so it feels comfortable if you want to to roll up the sleeves.
It's one of the most expensive baselayers on our website but the comfort, breathability and warmth it offers makes it a great versatile piece. I was a little unsure at first about the high price tag for a mid weight baselayer but after researching the technology put into it and actually trying it on, it's now on my wish list.
