The Kunai is a solid tent capable of providing shelter year round. Despite the strong design, a mix of lightweight fabrics keep the weight down for backpackers while good ventilation allows year-round use.

Nemo says:

Kunai™ is the most versatile tent on the market for backpacking year-round. It's truly in a category of its own, able to handle everything from hot and humid days in the trees to frigid temps and exposure high in the mountains. If you're outfitting for an adventure that will take you across many landscapes and through a wide range of conditions, there's no better choice.

The thoughtfully engineered frame design with top-shelf DAC poles and aggressively-tapered overall tent profile are built to shed wind, rain and snow. Few tents are this adept in every season in a package this compact and lightweight. For 2020, Kunai™ is updated with a reshaped entry area, higher volume vestibule, and larger convertible mesh panels on the sides of the inner tent.

Nemo's Kunai 2P Tent is designed with a strong pole setup and shape that allows it to shed the wind and rain. It uses a range of lighter weight fabric to keep the overall weight down without sacrificing durability. It has really good ventilation to reduce the risk of the dreaded condensation and a bathtub floor to keep out moisture so it's well suited to changeable UK conditions. Although it is classed as a 3-4 season tent you would be able to use it in calm winter conditions. There are a few features that mean it would not stand up to the full winter conditions you'd experience in the Scottish Highlands but it would be fine for lowland conditions in England.

The Kunai has a good sized vestibule for this type of design so there's enough space for warm winter kit is you're taking it out in decent conditions. It has a good selection of storage pockets with some specifically designed for lights so you get a nice ambient light from the fabric. A nice little feature is the 'Divvy Sack', a set of two smaller storage packs that allows you to split the load equally if you're going with a partner.

Absolutely love it. Well made and spacious

Used it about 4 or 5 times now, once in rain, once in strong wind and a couple of sunny days but all in cold weather. I was pleasantly surprised on the below points. 1. Easy to setup - very quick. Two poles which are connected in the middle swivel to make X, then you just slot in each corner and hook. 2. Sturdy. Guylines from inner tent goes through slit on the fly to be pitched. This makes the tent very robust even in windy conditions. 3. No condensation. I still do not know why, but I don't get any condensation in this tent. I make the inner tent windows open, and the ventilation open. Even then, I would expect some condensation, but every time I wake up, I am pleasantly surprised of not having any. On the negative side, I had to go and buy some extra pegs as it only contained 6. I think there are 13 or 14 loops in total, so if you want that really sturdy pitch, you have to get extra pegs and guylines. Also, you have to get the foot print separately. I tried pitching it with just the foot print and the fly, it works, but because you cannot put the third pole which goes across the front of the tent, you cannot get that space that you get with the inner tent. In any case it is a very well made, light tent that can easily accommodate two people.
