The 49" Carbon Fibre and Aluminium Tent Poles are ideal for supporting Six Moon Designs Tents, Tarps and NetTents.

Six Moon Designs says:

These 49" ultralight and strong poles are custom made and designed to be used as your primary tent pole for our Tents, Tarps and NetTents.

If you're a cyclist, paddler or hiker who doesn't carry trekking poles, you may wish to consider using these poles to support your Six Moon Designs shelter during your trip. Not all tents come with the supporting poles so it's always best to check if you need to buy one or use an alternative. Other than using your own walking poles, you can use the Six Moon Designs Carbon Fibre or Aluminium poles.

The Carbon Fibre poles are much stronger than aluminum yet weigh less. Made from carbon fiber and wrapped in fiberglass, the poles will not shatter even in the strongest winds. The aluminium poles are lightweight, cheaper in price and good for less extreme weather conditions.

Too short for tight pitch

Bought the Carbon pole to allow me to use the Lunar Solo on bike packing trips. I have put the tent up a few times now with a trekking pole and yesterday tried this carbon pole. The bend once I got a tight pitch was insane and I would never sleep well thinking at any time it would snap and rip the tent. Great tent but this pole is too short and flimsy. According to returns policy I cannot return it as I have used it to put up the tent to find out it doesn't work.

Takes Away the Guesswork

I tried putting up my new lunar solo this morning using one of my walking poles. Guessing a length of 48-49 inches is difficult at the best of times and that length is pretty critical if you want a taught shelter.

I'm glad I already ordered one of these. Having borrowed on from a friend this morning to retry the setup it cut my pitch time down to about three minutes from seven minutes. Can't wait for mine to arrive.
