The Big Agnes Backpacking Tarp Pole is a lightweight and adjustable Tarp Pole that can extend from 84cm to 114cm to support the Scout UL Tents.

Big Agnes says:

Multi-use adjustable tent pole compatible with Big Agnes Scout UL series tents, as well as many other tarps and tents.

If you're a cyclist, paddler or hiker who doesn't carry trekking poles, you may wish to consider using this pole to support your Tarp or Big Agnes Scout Tent during your trip. If you regularly use trekking poles then you can use them to save on weight but if you don't the Big Agnes Backpacking Tarp Pole is an excellent alternative for supporting Tarps.

It's simple to use with the push of a button and designed with rubber caps at the ends to protect the tarp from wear and tear.

Great poles

I got these for my tarp, and they are really good, they are well made, easy to use and come with a nice bag to keep them in. They were smaller in diameter than I had imagined so I saved 350g from using my walking poles which I generally don't use for walking and they are smaller than walking poles and better too. I weighed mine and they were 200g with the bag, the bag is nice too. There might not be a spike on them, but I did not find this a problem for my tarp, the rubber ends are fine on just the webbing material and guide ropes pulled taught. I really like the adjustable height with a height guide in 5cm intervals which makes it easier to judge the correct height for setup. It was used with my Rab Siltarp, 2 person and it was fine and stable in strong gusting wind.
