MSR's Hubba Tour tents use durable fabrics and feature an extended porch and 'flysheet first' setup, with an enlarged inner tent the 1 person version is an ideal option for bikepacking or cycle touring.

The Hubba Tour 1 cycle touring tent was specifically designed to meet the needs of riders headed out onto the backroads of bicycle touring adventures.

The extended vestibule creates a spacious shelter for added storage and greater comfort on week- to year-long tours. The tent sets up quickly thanks to its exoskeleton fame, and because the tent body is attached to the rainfly, the interior stays dry during setup in foul weather. The floor’s added length and width offers room to move around in several layers of gear, and the mesh door on the vestibule provides a bug-free area to prepare for the day’s ride.

MSR's Hubba Tour 1 Tent has an extended porch to allow for additional storage compared to a standard tent, internally its bigger as well, being 4 inches wider than the standard Hubba NX tent and slightly longer. The other key feature is the exoskeleton design which means the flysheet can be pitched on its own and the inner removed, or setup once the flysheet is pitched - this enables you to keep the inner dry when pitching and striking camp in poor weather.

The use of 20 and 30 denier fabrics makes the Hubba Tours a bit more durable than the lightest options. We particularly like the fixed groundsheet at the end of the extended porch - this is ideal for keeping your gear off the ground or keeping 'mans best friend' dry.

Everything I ever hoped for!

Got it today and erected it in the living room (to my beloved girlfriends dreadful shouting;-).

So what you read is based on my short testing. Inside!

But the fabric feels solid and longer lasting than UL tents regularly do, and should you call this an UL tent to begin with?!

It's a very straightforward process erecting it, took less than 10 minutes the first time, so I guess 3-5 on a good day with mild wind when you're used to it.

The two major advantages over similar tents (is there any except the MSR Hubba Gear Shed, the Big Agnes Copper Spur Hotell and maybe the Big Agnes Super Scout UL 2?) is that you erect it outer first and the inner follows, this way you have a good chance of not getting the inner wet (yes, I live in Sweden).

Second, the "garage"/vestibule has a mesh that let's you have excellent ventilation, enjoy the scenery but keep the mosquitoes out! *YES!!!*

The next big thing for us who ride motorcycles "Adventure style", we can keep all our filthy, wet gear outside and away from our sleeping compartment *Hooray!!!*

We can even fix a flat/change a tire inside, away from all pesky bloodsuckers, cook food and chill out very comfortable (especially when carrying a Helinox Zero).

Half of the "garage area" has a floor to put your gear on which is very nice since it doesn't have to lay on the wet/dirty ground.

If something goes haywire with a friends tent, you can easily fit a EXPED LW in the garage, or even 2 guys can sleep there in an emergency.

Or 3-4 guys can come over and have a beer at my place if it's foul weather...

The stuff sack is very generous. I parted the poles from the tent (41 cm) and since I'm a "sloppy packer", I just folded I to the right width without any concerns other than to keep the bag width (Exped small with side compression straps, 13L) rolled it and showed it easily in the sack. It came out at 33x13 cm in 1 minute blank. My guess is that if you do it properly, with some training, you probably can reach 30x10-ish.

Ok, today I have a "Tarp tent" solution from MSR in the summer (Thru Hiker 3/100 Wing), but the summer is short in Sweden, and with poles it weighs ca 1400 gr and I have to keep my gear in my sleeping area which I don't like, and don't even think about fixing a flat on that floor...

So what are my options? I could have a small "true" UL tent, but then I have to have a Tarp for socialising/not going crazy if I do anything more than just sleeps there, but I will lose the hanging out area if I'm in an mosquito infested area and only gain maybe 2-300 gr. Or have a pretty big tent and a Tarp, and gain nothing weight wise.

You might think weight and packsize doesn't matter on a motorcycle, but if so you're very, very wrong. The way we ride, often have to pass closed gates, technical trails etc. so we really try hard to keep volume and weight down, otherwise it ruins the ride (during the summer all my packing, including tools fits in 39L+20L).

Maybe my view of the Hubba Tour changes after this season, but right now I don't see why.

Bottom line: During the mosquito months I'll even take it when hiking, I'd rather skip out on something else.
