The classic Hubba design with its spacious interior now upgraded with super tough poles and extra durable outer.
The Hubba NX solo backpacking tent offers the most livable accommodations in a lightweight freestanding design. Engineered for 3-season camping, the light and compact tent won’t slow you down, whether you’re striking out early to earn solo views along a popular route, or finding your stride on a 10-day trek into the Alaskan wilderness. The tent’s spacious interior maximizes comfort, while new premium Easton® Syclone™ Poles and our long-lasting Xtreme Shield™ waterproof coating enhance the durability of this high-performance shelter. Together with its StayDry™ door and adaptable, cross-ventilating rainfly, the Hubba NX is so livable, you won’t want to come home.
Differences between the New Hubba Shield & the Hubba NX: The Hubba Shield gets a durability boost from composite Easton Syclone poles, which flex under heavy winds; Xtreme Shield waterproof coating, which outlasts standard polyurethane coatings; & precision-stitched seams, which eliminates the need for conventional seam taping.
MSR's Hubba range are amongst our favourite tents. We like that the head height is maintained over a wide area, we like the long interior length giving you space to store your gear, and we like that its freestanding so you can pitch it on hard ground or move it around to find the best spot when choosing your campsite.
The Hubba Hubba Shield takes the existing superb design and adds greater toughness and longevity thanks to the cutting-edge Easton Syclone poles and "Xtreme Shield" coating. The porch is quite spacious for a solo tent and its easy to get in and out of.
MSR are still producing the Hubba NX in europe with the same specs that it had in 2018, it comes with more cost-effective DAC Featherlite NFL poles and a "Durashield" polyurethane & silicone waterproof coating instead of the new "Xtreme Shield" coating. The Hubba NX comes in at a lower price so depending on what you require from your tent you have the option to go for the Hubba NX or the new Hubba Shield.
