Force Ten's Helium 1 Solo Tent is a two skin tent designed with maximised headroom, good internal storage and a reasonable porch area.
The Helium 1's hybrid tunnel design, ease of pitching and fully taped seams make this lightweight tent a welcome and reliable shelter. TBS® Pro and pre-bend poles offer exceptional stability, and vents allow for a through flow of air reducing any condensation build up. Extremely light weight and a compact pack size make the Helium ideal for short trips without compromising function or performance.
Vango's F10 Helium 1 UL Tent offers comprehensive protection and solid durability at a pretty low weight given that its a two skin tent with its own poleset.
This year Force Ten's Helium tents are made from 15D fabric for the flysheet and 70D fabric for the floor. This knocks off some of the weight from previous heavier designs.
This design of tent can seem cramped, but the design usually has a circular hoop; the Helium has a shaped hoop which maximises head height over the inner tent getting the best out of the hoop. The inner tent is not massively long at 210cm (6ft 10in), but there's additional storage space at the back of the inner tent.
The Helium is a good design in a lightweight package, with the internal storage area and reasonable porch size its a good tent for solo backpacking.
In this updated model more seam tape has been added to the design to increase the weather protection.
