UOG TOP PICK - Nigor Wicki Up 4 - Best for internal height and volume - We've singled out Nigor's WickiUp 3 and 4 because they offer such a high space to weight ratio and unrivalled flexibility - a massive ultralight shelter for 2-4 people.
Nigor says:
WickiUp 4 set including full size room . Ultra Lightweight tent system, which offers our best space-to-weight ratio. The WickiUp series has been constructed from GorLyn 20 fabric using high-tenacity nylon 6.6, with a yarn thickness of 20 denier, which has a higher tensile strength than regular and most used nylon in tent construction.
The pyramid style design with one DAC center pole cuts weight in a big way. It offers extreme stability in bad weather conditions and is available in three, four and six person version. The fly sheet can be used as independent shelter and the optional inner tent can be used without the fly sheet. An half size Inner tent and footprint are optional available.
The Wiki Up 4 delivers superb livability at a very low weight. If you are concerned about wind resistance, don`t be. Pyramid designs have proven themselves to be very stable, especially if you add storm guys to the loops provided. With all the pegging points used the Wicki Up design sheds wind really well.
Its certainly big enough for 4 to use but it excels as a shelter for 2 or 3 people.
If you think you recognise it, that's probably because its virtually the same as GoLite's Shangri-La 5 (which we can`t get hold of). However we think the Wiki Up 4 is a better tent. Firstly, because the inner tent has fabric half way up the sides which is warmer and better suited to European conditions. Secondly, the build quality seems better. In truth we didn't have many problems with the GoLite Shangri-La but there were a few where the pegging points failed - the Wiki Up looks better in this respect.
