The Wiki Up 3 delivers superb 'livability' at a very low weight, the design allows you to virtually stand up inside. If you are concerned about wind resistance, don't be. Pyramid designs have proven themselves to be very stable, especially if you add storm guys to the loops provided. With all the pegging points used, the Wiki Up design sheds wind really well.
Its certainly big enough for 3 to use, but it excels as a shelter for 2 people where each person can lie on one side of the pole with additional space to keep their gear. The half size inner combats the age-old problem of rain getting in when you are getting in and out of the tent. With the half inner you can even leave the door open even if it is raining with no issues.
If you think you recognise it, then thats probably because its virtually the same as GoLite's Shangri-La 3 (which we can't get hold of). However, we think the Wiki Up 3 is a better tent. Firstly, the inner tent has fabric half way up the sides which is warmer and better suited to European conditions. Secondly, the build quality seems better. In truth we didn`t have many problems with the GoLite Shangri-La, but there were a few where the pegging points failed. The Wiki Up looks better in this respect.
You can convert a pair of trekking poles for the main support (saving the weight of the pole) using a pole extender. In this configuration you are only carrying a measly 1546g for a three person shelter.
Finally, Nigor has specified a 10000mm hydrostatic head groundsheet. This is a lot higher than many other ultralight tents these days and will appeal to many.
