The Nordisk Telemark 2 LW is one of the lightest double layer 2 person tents on the market, with a small pack size it's ideal for backpackers.

Nordisk says:

Telemark 2 has won several awards for its technical and extreme lightweight construction, and despite striving for the lowest weight possible, there are no compromises on function nor comfort.

Inner pocket, ventilation through mechanical construction as well as mesh window, easy adjustable guy ropes, magnet closing and corner poles, which can convert the door into a tarp.

The technical construction and the choice of state-of-the-art fabrics and components has made Telemark 2 one of the most advanced tents in the world, and it is available with aluminium or carbon poles for lower weight.

Every gram counts when back packing and while many modern back packing tents tip the scales at less than 1000 grams, not all of them are practical to use in challenging weather. The Telemark 2 LW is a spacious yet lightweight 2 man tent made from strong, lightweight fabrics and components that can withstand wind speeds of up to 17.5 m/sec. What makes it unique is that it has a large vestibule for storage of gear and the whole tent can be erected in under 4 minutes with a little practice.

The Telemark 2 comes in 2 versions, the model featured here is the lightweight (LW) model, which weighs in at 932 grams (excluding pegs) and uses aluminium poles. There is also an ultra lightweight (ULW) version that weighs in at 898 grams (excluding pegs) and uses aluminium poles. Depending on how important weight is to you, you could save yourself a few bob with the LW version or save on weight with the ULW version.

Amazing weight, packsize and super easy to use

It's super lightweight, has the best pack size of any ten I've come across and pitches in one. The whole tent, poles, pegs fits into the inner pocket which has compression straps to make it even smaller. Pitches quickly and easily. I've used this in a wide range of conditions and it has amazed me by standing up to 40-50mph winds, rain and freezing temps. It's not ideal in high winds or super cold temps but it worked (to my surprise) without showing any signs of damage. Definitely the better choice over the ULW version (you'd only save 34g and it'd cost you an extra £130!)

Quick and easy to pitch.

I have used a Terra Nova Competition 1 for years but the Telemark is easier to put up and has more space inside for very little extra weight. I am 5'10 and have loads of space left at foot and head ends which is needed to keep my down sleeping bag dry as I tend to go away for 2 or 3 weeks at a time, I often find a lot of condensation especially at the foot end but that is why the extra space is handy, its easy to stay away from the sides, even when sitting up.
