The Nordisk Telemark 1 LW is an ideal tent for solo backpacking as it's extremely light and small, yet spacious and very strong.

Nordisk says:

Telemark 1 is a very spacious 1 person tent with a surprisingly low weight due to the technical construction and the choice of state-of-the-art fabrics and components.

Despite striving for the lowest weight possible, there are no compromises on function nor comfort. Inner pocket for storage, ventilation through mechanical construction as well as mesh window, easy adjustable guy ropes, magnet closing and as the most unique feature, the corner poles can also be used to convert the door into a tarp.

Every gram counts when back packing and while many modern back packing tents tip the scales at less than 1000 grams, not all of them are practical to use in challenging weather. The Telemark 1 LW is a spacious yet lightweight 1 man tent made from strong, lightweight aluminium poles that can withstand wind speeds of up to 25.0 m/sec. What makes it unique is that it has a large vestibule for storage of gear and the whole tent can be erected in under 4 minutes with a little practice.

The Telemark 1 comes in 2 versions, the model featured here is the lightweight (LW) model, which weighs in at 794 grams (excluding pegs) and uses aluminium poles. There is also an ultra lightweight (ULW) version that weighs in at 756 grams (excluding pegs) and uses carbon poles. Depending on how important weight is to you, you could save yourself a few bob with the LW version or save on weight with the ULW version.

Very light, spacious and strong

I love this tent and have slept in it during raging storms on four long haul wild camping walks and it has kept me dry and comfortable. It is quick and easy to pitch and pack, with tiny pack size. In relation to the other reviewer, for condensation it is no worse than any other tent, but you do need to make sure you leave some air space at the ends (see the Nordisk pitching video). It has a good air vent above the doorway. At the end of the day it is always a compromise between how much you like a tent to be airy and how much condensation you will tolerate to stay sheltered and warm. As with other tents, the thin, light weight door flap material has a risk of entrapment in the door zip, so take care there. I have added a strip of stiffener between the fabric layers to avoid this.

Tent - shower

Pros: - easy - excellent keeps the rain (40 hours of continuous rain - everything is fine) Minuses: - disgusting ventilation. More precisely, complete absence of ventilation. Condensation accumulates simply in huge volumes! From the inside of the outer awning, it drips onto the inner tent and further onto you and onto the sleeping bag! And this is with an open tent! Why can Hilleberg and Robens make excellent ventilation in such a form (Tunnel construction), and NORDISK can not!?!?! It is also very low, only 86cm. Even sitting in it is impossible! You touch the head of the inner awning. If it touches on the outer awning and condensation pours on you! I do not recommend it for use in cool and rainy climates. Only in warm days and nights it is possible to rest comfortably in it. If you go for 3 days, and according to the forecast 4 days warm and without rain - the tent will do. The two-seater version is 120 grams heavier, but it has much more room and it's higher - 100 cm (Inner tent size (LxWxH): 220 x 98 x 86 cm vs 220 x 135 x 100 cm). And to sit comfortably and there is a place to place things in the tent.
