UOG TOP PICK - Exped Mira HL Series - Best for ultralight internal height and volume - We've singled out Exped's Mira HL series of tents because they tick all the ultralight boxes, good internal volume, ultralight materials keeping the overall weight down and well thought out convenient design.
The Mira I HL offers a balanced combination of space, comfort and light weight - great for solo summer adventures.
It has a free-standing design and its ridge pole increases interior space for comfortable sitting. The canopy design combines large fine mesh panels with solid fabric walls. Two vestibules, one of which can be reached through a zippered access. This keeps gear out of sight in the rear vestibule.
We recommend the use of a footprint as ground protection to extend the life of the floor.
||||This tent is one of Exped's FAST + LITE tents - When minimal weight and small packed size are necessities, these shelter solutions deliver both without sacrificing Exped quality or fine detail. Tents, Tarps and mosquito nets work alone or in concert to achieve protection from the elements for the most gram conscious adventurers.|
Exped's Mira I HL Tent has the same dimensions as the standard Mira 1 but its constructed from lighter weight materials saving precious weight. There are a few tents of similar design to this one but the Mira 'feels' more spacious - the extra pole at one end not only improves stability but it ensures the fabric is taut and nearly vertical, providing good usable space at the head.
There's a good mix of fabric panels and mesh on the inner tent so you get a thoughtful compromise between ventilation and stopping the wind whistling through. Ideal for warmer climates, summer and 3 season use but not so much for cool weather.
