The Superalloy is one of the lightest tents available from Marmot. This lightweight, semi-freestanding tent is easy to pitch, provides a good inner space and has a number of practical features that make it a great tent to use.
Marmot says:
The semi-freestanding Superalloy 2-Person Tent is ultralight, yet still has the premium features you need to make your campsite the ultimate home away from home. Its vertical walls provide plenty of sleeping space, while the strategic clip placement offers more interior volume for stretching out. If the forecast turns, the rain-shield flysheet won’t stretch out after it gets wet, plus it resists UV damage. Its vented seam-taped full-coverage fly and bathtub floor provide additional weather protection. Color-coded “easy pitch" clips and poles make it easy to set up quickly. Stash your pack, poles, and other gear in the two vestibules and tuck a headlamp into the UV lampshade pocket.
Marmot's Superalloy 2P Tent weighs in at just over 1kg which, for a tent like this is impressive. The simple, effective pole set up is colour coded to make pitching easier while the shape of the poles provides a good amount of useable space inside. The tent has a good head height and enough space for two people and their kit before you include the vestibules, which again, provide a great space for storing all the kit you don't want inside and cooking in when conditions outside are too bad.
The tent is more than capable of withstanding normal three season conditions with a 15D flysheet and 20D bathtub floor providing enough waterproofing whilst still being lightweight. Despite working hard to keep the weight to an impressively low amount Marmot have still managed to add a few nice features that make the tent practical and enjoyable to use. These include the 'lampshade' pocket for holding your headtorch and diffusing the light nicely, some internal pockets to keep your small items organised and at hand.
