The Big Agnes Fly Creek series delivers an ultralight tent with a mixed mesh and fabric inner tent, with a redesigned pole construction the Fly Creek HV now has more room inside.

Big Agnes says:

Our award winning Fly Creek tents have been redesigned with steep wall architecture and a vertical door to maximize floor and head space. These features create more livable space so you can be more comfortable in the backcountry. All of the weatherproof and technical features of a three-season tent, with ultralight materials to keep the Fly Creek your go-to, easy to set up shelter when you need to pack ultralight.

The Big Agnes Fly Creek UL2 uses the latest materials to lower the weight bar. With this trend we are seeing much bigger lightweight backpacking tents offering more comfort, in many cases for less weight. The Fly Creek is a good example of this concept, we particularly like the high fabric inner - only the top section and door is mesh, this gives a good compromise between ventilation, wind protection and warmth.

The High Volume part of this tent is the redesign of the pole structure which adds significant extra space inside. The Fly Creek has storm guys which also act to keep the volume of the inner at maximum as well as giving some reassurance during windy conditions.

Excellent tent

I have just completed the Land's End to John O'Groats walk. I started on March 16th and finished on June 19th. Earlier this year you sold me some gear which, in the event, was vital in completing the walk successfully. Foremost was the Big Agnes Fly Creek 2.

It was superb. I walked throughout April, officially the wettest on record, I got the tent up quickly, it was spacious and took all my gear, so I was never wet. This tent made my life a lot easier. I am 74, and had that birthday on the trek. The Exped mat meant that every night I had a comfortable sleep and could sit in the tent with the conversion to a chair.

I will also single out the Lightwave rucksack which contributed to the walks success. I feel that it is not an exaggeration to state that without the tent and Exoed mat I would have been struggling. I hope you find these comments useful when, in the future, you get asked about long-distance walking, especially by older people.
