The Exped Gemini IV is a 4 person 3 season tent that features an ingenious pole structure for optimal weight, space and stability.
The Gemini IV features the same ingenious canopy pole structure found in the Gemini tent series. This stout structure for up to four people combines a high volume living space with steep side walls and low overall weight. Two separate entries with vestibules ensure ample space for gear storage.
||||This tent is one of Exped's 3 Season TREKKING tents - Tents designed for moderate and warm climate zones featuring large mesh panels for enhanced ventilation. The grey mesh is inconspicuous and allows panoramic views. Large vestibules offer ample dry storage space. High doors enable easy access to the inner tent. Globetrotters and hikers will enjoy the low weights combined with generous living space.|
As you can see, this is a big tent, but don't underestimate it's backpacking capabilities. At 4090 grams for the tent, poles, and fly, the per person weight is around 1.225 grams. Exped consider this a 3 season tent due to the large areas of mesh and relatively large panels, but when guyed out it is very solid in a storm. The strength and reliability of the older Gemini models have been brought forward in this new design.
The most noticeable feature of the Gemini IV is its front and back vestibule. This creates a space for dressing before heading out into the world or removing wet layers without getting the inner tent, or its occupants, wet in the process. It provides enough space for 4 peoples rucksacks and dirty shoes, allowing you to keep your boots and pack out from under the rain but not in the sleeping area.
You can convert your Gemini IV with the Outer Space vestibule extension from Exped. This provides ample space for gear and pets as well as creating a dry and shaded area to for sitting upright on camp chairs.
