The MSR Elixir 2 Tent is the most liveable 2 person backpacking tent in it's class, although this does mean it's a little heavier compared to similar sized tents. All Elixir models have been updated to make them more comfortable and even easier to set-up.

MSR says:

The MSR Elixir 2 tent is an extremely livable performance camping and backpacking tent and an ideal option for adventurers seeking an easy-to-assemble tent at a great value. Unlike many tents in this class, our freestanding tent design offers true-to-size capacity for two and features two large doors plus new larger vestibules with 35% more space. The versatile tent balances breathable mesh fabric with solid canopy fabric to provide ventilation, warmth and privacy, while the included footprint offers multiple setup options, including a freestanding Fast & Light pitch with rainfly. Whether you’re planning your first backpacking trip or your next one, the Elixir 2 tent is your remedy.

All MSR Elixir Tents have been updated with larger vestibules, built-in gear lofts, glow-in-the-dark zippers and an easy-to-find red vestibule door (grey model only). They now also feature laser-etched, directional pole-end grommets and colour-coded poles for a fast and easy set-up.

The Elixir Tents combine MSR design and quality with lightweight rather than ultra lightweight materials to produce a series of tents that perform well but are heavier and less costly than MSR's leading edge products.

The tents are still all MSR in terms of its quality of materials, design and construction, there's no compromise on performance but there is on weight. The Elixir series is heavier than similar sized MSR tents because they're made with slightly heavier materials, heavier also means cheaper (in our world), so MSR have produced an excellent and relatively inexpensive tent where the only compromise is its weight.

Overall an ideal option for backpackers seeking easy-to-assemble tents at a great value.

Really nice tent; everything works

I really like this tent. Much nicer than my previous camping experiences. High quality construction, with everything fitting just right.
Comes with the footprint sheet included; this is something none of the retailers seemed to be aware of.
Great ventilation.
My only complaint is that the zips are basically cheap zips and while they work, they easily catch on the adjacent fabric. This of course is a problem with zips on most clothing too. It can be avoided by design i.e. cutting the material so it doesn't leave an edge which can get into the zip. Operating the zips in the dark is more or less certain to catch them and then you are in there cursing and looking for the torch so you can find the bit which is stuck. Maybe a £1000 tent doesn't have this :)
