Exped's Cetus 2-3 person tunnel tent uses robust fabrics and copious guying out points to produce a tough, stable tent that will have a long life. The large vestibule offers ample storage space for your gear.
The Cetus III UL is a tunnel tent designed for gear intensive adventures. The third arch creates a large vestibule with lots of floor space for your gear. The canopy offers space for 2-3 sleepers (2 LW or 3 M sized mats) with generous head room and length making it ideal for taller campers. Vents at both head and foot ends provide efficient ventilation. The rear wall of the rainfly can be rolled up for additional venting options in good weather and the mesh window offers views.
||||This tent is one of Exped's 3 Season TREKKING tents - Tents designed for moderate and warm climate zones featuring large mesh panels for enhanced ventilation. The grey mesh is inconspicuous and allows panoramic views. Large vestibules offer ample dry storage space. High doors enable easy access to the inner tent. Globetrotters and hikers will enjoy the low weights combined with generous living space.|
Exped's Cetus III UL is a two skin tunnel tent with an extended vestibule that doesn't compromise on durability. Many of the lightest tents that we sell have been produce with 7 Denier fabrics, which, while being strong and waterproof are not as resistant to UV radiation than heavier fabrics. The Cetus, is made from 15 Denier fabrics so it should have a longer life than a 7 Denier tent.
What's more the Cetus has a 40 Denier floor with a 10,000 mm hydrostatic head - this is one of the highest rating you'll find on any lightweight tent so you are fully protected from the ground - and it uses 9mm aluminium poles, again, a tougher proposition than some lighter tents.
The Cetus has a large number of guying points, 4 on each pole, this means it can be pitched taught to give it a high wind resistance.
The Cetus weighs a bit more than our lightest tents - but you can see why - longer life, greater pitching options and slightly heavier fabrics.
