Exped's Carina tents are spacious models with good head height and made from heavyweight durable fabrics that will deliver a long life for the tent.
Exped says: The Exped Carina II is a tent designed for moderate climates, great value for money, easy to set up and free-standing.
The large canopy mesh panels offer excellent ventilation and the rainfly can be rolled up for great views and even more ventilation. The Carina II is spacious and large enough to hold two Exped LW size mats
||||This tent is one of Exped's 3 Season TREKKING tents - Tents designed for moderate and warm climate zones featuring large mesh panels for enhanced ventilation. The grey mesh is inconspicuous and allows panoramic views. Large vestibules offer ample dry storage space. High doors enable easy access to the inner tent. Globetrotters and hikers will enjoy the low weights combined with generous living space.|
Exped's Carina II Tent is the 'tough and long-lasting' choice from their range - compare the fabric ratings with the super lightweight Mira HL, the Mira uses 15D fabric for inner and flysheet, with 20D fabric for the floor. In contrast the Carina uses 40D fabrics on the flysheet, 30D on the inner tent and 70D for the floor.
These heavier weight fabrics will last longer than the ultralight versions so while there's a penalty to be paid in terms of weight the reward is long term life. These tents are also rather more spacious than lighter weight models, with a 115cm head height in the Carina II it feels like it has a lot more room to move around.
