Marmot's AMP tents combine a two skin living area with good head height with a weight saving single skin foot end to provide a spacious tent that's still light.
Marmot says: Max room, max comfort, max days on the trail. The Amp 3P is ultralight, super durable and structured to allow more headroom. All the functional features you’ve come to depend on from Marmot ultralight tents — taped seams, durable fabrics, easy-access doors — make this semi-freestanding tent a dependable choice.
Marmot's AMP tents have all the volume at the front of the tent, where you want to live, and limited volume at the foot end to save weight. The main area is two skin whereas the foot end is single skin. The whole thing works very well because there isn't the condensation issues that you can sometimes get from single skin tents.
Both the AMP 2 and AMP 3 models have an unobstructed doorway and are therefore quite easy to get in and out of, the pole structure ensures that the maximum head height is maintained over quite a large area.
The floor plan is quite generous given the weight of the tent and you can set it up with a footprint and flysheet for a minimalist shelter.
