Primus' Clip-on Windshield is an essential piece of kit. This will increase the efficiency of your micro stove in bad weather conditions. The windscreen clips onto your gas canister giving you a shield around a large area of your stove.

Primus says:

Fit Primus ExpressStove MicronStove Ti and TiLite. This windscreen significantly increases a stove'€™s efficiency and shortens boiling time. Packs conveniently around the LP gas cartridge making it easy to transport. It also fits most commercially available small top-mounted gas stoves. Stove and gas cartridge are sold separately.

Brilliant innovation this from Primus - its slightly heavier than a simple winscreen but its more effective and much easier to use - if you use lightweight gas stoves buy one of these.

It doesn't fit every stove - comments from Andi Bauer on the SnowPeak Giga stove: it's not a perfect fit: the windscreen is just wide enough for the stove (about 2mm room on each side) but it's also about 10-12mm too high. I don't mind that (having all the tools to take care of that) but for someone not being skilled in cutting aluminum it could be a problem.

We know it does fit the Optimus Crux and Crux Lite, MSR Pocket Rocket and of course Primus stoves.

If you are trying to work out whether it will fit your stove then the following dimensions may help:

Looking at the photo one the website, the distance from the base of the gas bottle to the top edge of the windshield is 16cm. The distance from the base of the gas bottle to the bottom edge of the circular cutouts is 15.3cm. The internal diameter of the windshield is 11cm.

Primus clip-on windshield

I have used this with an MSR Pocket Rocket, it clips easily around the neck of the gas canister and does a good job at shielding the flame. When packed away the gas canister fits inside the shield and both sit inside my MSR Titanium kettle. It is sturdy but lighter than it looks.
